Luna Sweets, a cake studio, held its grand opening at the Lydia Pinkham building on Western Avenue Wednesday evening.

The business, which is owned by Patricia Francis, got its start with a $15,000 microloan from Economic Development & Industrial Corporation of Lynn (EDIC/Lynn).

Luna Sweets specializes in custom event cakes. Francis was given the loan last October.

“She’s going to do continued success and (we’re) looking forward to watching her grow,” said James Cowdell, EDIC/Lynn executive director.
